To order a gift for me is not something I usually do, but the sentiment behind the design of this ring, “Beautifully Broken”, called my name. The four stones in the ring are misaligned and purposely broken apart; like the pieces of my life.

I have learned with age and life experience that brokenness can be beautiful; it ultimately gives God a voice (through me) when I share my life story. It is my hardships, struggles and failures that have molded me into a living testimony of His amazing grace and tireless love.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Psalm 34:18

In that moment we willingly admit we can’t do this thing called ‘life’ alone, God intentionally draws near with a purposed restoration process. He instills hope and divinely points us in the right direction. He restores our soul and places people in our path with similar stories of brokenness.  We become HIS voice in encouraging those facing ‘life on pause’ adversities and find themselves separated from hope.

God will often use brokenness to get our attention and reveal character defects and sin that would otherwise remain hidden. Our life tragedies and heartbreaks can be used for good if choose to draw close and submit our ways to Him. It is a precious promise from God.

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28

Did you know?

• God will still use you during your struggles and brokenness. It’s called grace.
• God uses our brokenness to grow us. It’s called mercy.
• God uses our brokenness for our good and His glory. It’s called love.
• God uses our brokenness to show his Gospel story. It’s called redemption.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Heavenly Father, thank you for the unforeseen obstacles before me. Allow me to accept them without anger in my heart with the knowledge that you are fully aware of the heartaches and brokenness of mankind. Whether it be self or world-inflicted it is caused by our struggle against sin on this earth.

Keep me focused on my eternal purpose and calling. Remind me daily that you are close to the brokenhearted and a refuge in the time of need. Your love for me knows no boundaries, your grace is sufficient and your mercies endure forever. Refresh my heart with hope and use my brokenness and pain for your good and glory.
