Feeling Frazzled?

You know it is not the start to a good day when the honey-man walks back into the house after starting his car for work.

“What did you forget”, I said. It isn’t unusual for him to forget something.

“I have to call my mechanic. The same engine light came on when we replaced the engine. I need to take your Jeep.”

This was and is NOT GOOD NEWS! Some of you may remember the amount paid out to have the engine replaced a few months ago; not to mention, I was without a vehicle for 5 weeks because honey-man needed mine for work.

MY POINT!

Life never goes as planned. It’s complicated, unpredictable and can take a toll on our finances, health, mindset and steal our hope and joy in the process. When we feel like we’ve hit the ’brick wall’,  it’s easy to succumb to defeat and discouragement.

Life can frazzle the nerves of even the most resilient among us. I cling to God’s Word in times of adversity…

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4: 6-7

Encouragement, love, prayer, comfort, kindness, faith and teamwork are the sidebars to this thing we call life. It doesn’t matter how strong, smart, capable, confident or successful you are. We need each other.

I am confident that our mechanic will take care of issues with the car. However, in the process, I refuse to forfeit my joy, hope and peace that was gifted to me through Jesus on the cross. God really does love us; we need to part the clouds of doubt to see just how much.

TODAY’S PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the peace you bring when placing my hope in You. I can’t control everything; life goes on even when bad stuff happens. May I go forward with the confidence that things will work out according to your divine plan.

Part the clouds of doubt to see just how much you love me.

AMEN

  1. Thankfully, wisdom comes with our years of experience! I heard someone say yesterday, “The detour is the destination.” God doesn’t let anything go to waste, so I’m sure He has some pleasant surprises through this car repair sidetrack (and then you can write another post to update us).
